The Italian capital, Rome,م is hosting the "Treasures of the Pharaohs" exhibition, officially inaugurated today by His Excellency Mr. Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, with the participation of Mr. Sherif Fathy, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Mr. Alessandro Giuli, the Italian Minister of Culture. The event is being held in the Scuderie del Quirinale hall, affiliated with the Italian Presidency.

The streets, squares, train stations, and metro stations in the Italian capital have been adorned with the image of Queen Ahhotep, reflecting the great passion shown by the Italian people towards the ancient Egyptian civilization. Everyone is eagerly anticipating the opening of the exhibition, especially since it is being held in one of Italy's most prestigious and important cultural venues.

In this context, this morning, Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, inspected the final touches inside the exhibition halls, checking the readiness and arrangement of the artifacts, reviewing the informational signages, designs, and interior decorations, in addition to ensuring the implementation of security procedures and the entry and exit points for visitors, all to ensure the exhibition is presented in a manner befitting the grandeur and history of the Egyptian civilization.

Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled also held a meeting with the exhibition organizers to discuss the final arrangements for the official opening ceremony and the press conference scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the event.

Mr. Tommaso Radaelli, the exhibition organizer, confirmed that the large public turnout reflects the status of the Egyptian civilization in the hearts of Italians, noting that 40,000 tickets were sold before the official opening, and it is expected to welcome between 5,000 to 6,000 visitors daily throughout the exhibition period.

As part of the promotional strategy of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, under the slogan "Egypt... Unparalleled Tourist Diversity," a tourist pavilion for the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion has been allocated on the sidelines of the exhibition for its entire duration. It includes promotional materials and films about the Egyptian tourist destination, in addition to tourist maps in Italian. The pavilion also allows visitors to use the QR Code for the "Experience Egypt" page to learn about Egypt's diverse tourist destinations and products.

The "Treasures of the Pharaohs" exhibition is considered the second-largest Egyptian archaeological exhibition to be held in Italy after the Palazzo Grassi exhibition in Venice (2002–2003), which focused on the role of kings during the New Kingdom era.

The exhibition features 130 artifacts selected from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir and the Luxor Museum of Art, narrating the story of ancient Egyptian civilization through themes including kingship, the royal court, religious beliefs, daily life, funerary rituals, and the afterlife.

The exhibition is scheduled to open its doors to the public tomorrow, October 24, and will run until May 2026, offering visitors a unique opportunity to connect with Egypt's ancient civilization and explore its eternal masterpieces.
