Barbadian singer Rihanna and her partner A$AP Rocky welcomed their second child in August, a son named Riot Rose who joined older brother RZA Athelston.
The superstar couple teamed with fashion photographer Miles Diggs, aka Diggzy, for a paparazzi-inspired shoot that marks the family of four’s first official photos offered to the public.
The photos were first shared by Vogue and distributed by photo agency Shutterstock, one photo features the family leaning up against a Range Rover with Rihanna in navy stretch leggings and an oversized denim jacket while Rocky, wearing a casual look by Bottega Veneta, holds the newborn who is outfitted in pink overalls and Timbaland boots.
RZA stands in front of his mother while looking directly at the camera. Other shots feature RZA on Rocky’s shoulders and Rihanna carrying Riot in her arms. One more features the parents inside, leaning over Riot, who is lying on a multicolored blanket.
The Barbados native announced her second pregnancy during the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime show in Phoenix, making history as the first pregnant woman to star in the halftime show.
A rep for Rihanna confirmed the news that night, after the singer rubbed her stomach and left the zipper of her red jumpsuit, layered over a close-fitting bodysuit and sculpted bandeau, down to reveal her baby bump.
Ahead of the outing, the superstar opened up about how motherhood affected her decision to take the stage. At the time, she and Rocky’s first son was 9 months old.
“When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything. And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was … there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all,” she explained. “It’s important for my son to see that.”
Around the same time, she also graced the cover of British Vogue along with Rocky and RZA. She told the magazine during the cover story interview that she was “down for whatever” when asked whether she was interested in expanding her family.
“My wish would be I would like to have more kids, but whatever God wants for me, I’m here. Girl, boy, whatever.”
