Riham Abdel Ghafour Celebrates Her Father's 81st Birthday

Renowned Egyptian actress Riham Abdel Ghafour celebrated the 81st birthday of her father legendary actor and former head of the Actors' Syndicate Ashraf Abdel Ghafour on a Nile cruise.

Abdel Ghafour shared Wednesday a photo of them on social media on her dad's special day.

”Happy birthday to my best friend," she captioned.

The acclaimed actor was born in 1942, in Cairo and received his degree from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1963.

Ashraf Abdel Ghafour made his debut in the theater in 1962 with the play "Jlfdan Hanim", followed by the plays "Soliman Al-Halabi", "Three Nights", "The Dead Without Graves", "Masraa Guevara", "My Home Acre", and "The Fire And The Olives".

Throughout his career, he featured in a number of hit movies including: "The Satan", "The Men In The Trap", "The Voice Of Love", and "Back Streets", but most of his works were in TV productions, with a specialization in the provision of historical and religious serials, including: "Imam Malik", "The judiciary In Islam", "Bye Cordoba", "Omar Bin Abdul Aziz", "Harun al-Rashid", and Laith bin Saad". 

His magnificent performance in the 1972 TV series “Al-Kaahera wal-naas i.e. Cairo and the People” won much praise from Arab fans and critics alike. Among his other notable works are “Thalaat Layaaly i.e. Three Nights (1965)”, “Mawta bela Kobour i.e. Dead with no Graves (1966)”, “Masra’ Guevara i.e. Guevara’s Death (1968)”, “Watany ‘Akka i.e. My Homeland Acre (1968) and “Al-Naar wal Zaytoun i.e. Fire and olives (1969)".

The legendary actor is married to his cousin and has two children Taamer and Reeham.
