Warner Bros. is developing a "Rick and Morty" movie, with franchise veteran Jacob Hair in talks to direct.
Details on the project are under wraps, except that it is in early development.
Dan Harmon, who co-created the Adult Swim show with Justin Roiland, has alluded to plans for a “a super badass” feature-length episode for a number of years.
Set to launch its ninth season this coming Sunday, May 24, "Rick and Morty" is an Emmy-winning adult animated series following genius, alcoholic mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his anxious grandson Morty Smith as they split time between suburban family life and dimension-hopping adventures across an infinite multiverse.
Roiland voiced both roles before exiting the series in 2023 amid felony domestic abuse charges that were ultimately dismissed.
Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden now voice Rick and Morty, respectively.
The show has been on the air since 2013, with Hair joining in 2019, directing numerous episodes and serving as supervising director.
"Rick and Morty" also features the voices of Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, and Sarah Chalke.
In addition to the feature, Spinoff "President Curtis," starring Keith David, is in the works for Adult Swim.
