Remembering Zizi Mustafa on Her 80th Birth Anniversary

Today, June 2, marks the 80th birth anniversary of legendary Egypt's actress Zizi Mustafa, best known for playing Adel's Mother in "Man and Six Ladies" comedy show.

She is remembered as one of the most talented and iconic actresses of her time, and her films continue to be popular today.

Born in 1943 in Cairo, Egypt, Mustafa appeared in her first film "Between Heaven and Earth (1959)” at the age of 16 and quickly became one of the most popular actresses in Egypt and throughout the Arab world.

Throughout her career, she appeared in more than 100 film and TV series like "Assassination of a teacher”, “Abyad we eswed i.e. Black and White”, “Al-ahbaab wal-masseer i.e. Lovers and destiny”, “Muhammad rassoul al Ensaneya i.e. Muhammad the messenger of humanity” and “Bein al-Sarayaat”.

Among her most popular TV series is “Abnaa’y al-a’ezzaa ..Shokran i.e. My dear children.. Thank you”.

She was also known for some notable films such as 'Hawaa wal kerd' (1968), 'Harami el waraka' (1970) and 'Shebr w Nus' (2004).

The late actress received many awards and accolades throughout her career, including several awards for her performances in drama.

She was married to Youssri Mustafa. She passed away at her home in Heliopolis, Cairo, on February 12, 2008.
