Today marks the birth anniversary of the renowned Egyptian comedian Ibrahim Nasr. Nasr was an Egyptian film actor known for playing character roles. He acted in many movies from the mid-1980s until the late 1990s.

He started his acting career in children's shows, which led to opportunities in Egyptian drama before transitioning to cinema, where he predominantly played comedy roles and later, character roles.

Born in the Shubra district in Cairo on August 8, 1946, Nasr belonged to a Christian family from upper Egypt. Nasr's interest in theater began during his school years, and he made his public acting debut at a school concert.

He went on to study at Cairo University's Faculty of English literature in the late 1960s and participated in the university's theater, acting in numerous dramatic, classical, and romantic plays. Following his graduation, Nasr made his TV acting debut in the 1970s in 'Hakiat Liha Alagab'.

During this time, Nasr crossed paths with Adel Emam and Samir Ghanem, both of whom were prominent personalities in the comedy world. As a result, he gained recognition and larger roles. Despite becoming famous for his comedic roles in films, Nasr was also well-known for portraying villainous characters in several TV series. However, he also took on dramatic and psychological roles as well.

His break came when he hosted the TV show "Candid Camera," where he portrayed a female character named 'Zakeya Zakaria'. Nasr is also remembered for his notable works on television, including "Mr. Karate" (1993) directed by Mohamed Khan, "Zakeya Zakaria" (2003), and "Shams El-Zanaty" (1991) directed by Samir Seif, where he acted alongside Emam and Sawsan Badr.

After a long break, Nasr returned to film acting with a small role as a funny old man in "X Large" (2011), a film directed by Sherif Arafa and starring Ahmed Helmy, and "The Cave" (2018). He also appeared in numerous television series, including "Foq El-Sahab" (2018).
