Remembering Madiha Kamel on Her 26th Death Anniv.

Today marks Twenty six years since beautiful actress Madiha Kamel passed away.

Known as one of the most talented actress, Kamel ruled the Egyptian film and drama industry for decades.

Born on August 3, 1946, in Alexandria, Egypt, she earned her degree from the Arts faculty, where she studied Literature.

Kamel's rise to fame was slow and steady. She made a lasting name for herself in the Egyptian film industry with numerous series and countless movies showcasing her impeccable acting skills.

The remarkable actress made her breakthrough at the age of 18 with the marvelous actor Farid Shawky in the "30 Days in Prison" movie (1968) and went to act in films like "Respectable Families", "My Sister", "Moutarada Gharamia", and "The Liar".

After that, the actress became one of the Egyptian and Arab world’s top female stars for much of the 1970s, and 1980s in the heydays of Egyptian cinema.

The most acclaimed actress in her generation was married three times and had only one daughter called Mirhan with her first husband, the renowned Egyptian businessman Mahmoud Rais.

She made over 50 films in the mere twenty-eight years of her stardom before she retired in 1992, aged 44.

The legendary actress died on this day in 1997, of heart disease and is survived by her daughter Mirhan. Even today, Kamel is considered to be one of the finest actresses to have worked in Egypt's film industry.
