Remembering Ezat Al Alaili on His 3rd Death Anniv.

Today marks the 3rd death anniversary of Egyptian cinema’s acclaimed actor Ezat Al Alaili.

His charm, versatile acting, and unique approach to each one of his iconic roles made him one of the legends of Egyptian cinema.

To commemorate his death anniversary, El-Hangar Cinema Theatre at the Cairo Opera House will screen "Al Mwatn" (The Citizen) and hold cultural secession chaired by renowned artists and directors.

On Al Alaili’s death anniversary, let's know some facts about him:

In a career spanning four decades, the late actor worked in 35 films and TV series and emerged as one of the highest-paid actors who acted in numerous prominent films, starting and working with renowned Egyptian stars like Adel Emam and The King Farid Shawky.

His first breakthrough in film came with "Land" film, directed by Youssif Shahin.

Born in Cairo in 1934, Al Alaili has won numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including a lifetime achievement award from the Dubai International Film Festival in 2015.

The late actor was also honored at the Sharjah International Book Fair for his "significant contribution to Egyptian cinema over many decades and his highly creative interpretations of the best Egyptian and Arabic novels through a huge collection of films and TV series".

The talented star has 54 acting credits to his name, dating back to 1963, when he had a small part in a British crime-drama called Cairo, although his career actually dates back to the 1950s, according to IMDb.

Among his notable classic films is 1993's El-Tareiq Ela Eilat, in which he played Colonel Radi, and El-Toot Wi El-Nabbout (1986).

He also featured in 1971's murder mystery Al Ikhtiar (The Choice), based on a novel by Egyptian author and Nobel prizewinner Naguib Mahfouz.

He made his last appearance in the 2019 TV series Qaid Aayeli.

In 2021, Al Alaili breathed his last at Dream hospital, aged 86. He is survived by his daughter, Ragaa, who has a degree in literature.

His funeral took place at Almarwah Mosque, in the 6th of October, Giza Governorate.
