The second edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival will take place from Dec. 1-10, organizers announced Tuesday.
The 2021 inaugural of the festival took place in late 2021 and saw the participation of nearly 140 films from 67 countries in 34 languages screen for more than 30,000 ticket holders and over 3,100 accredited industry guests.
The festival will once again be held in Jeddah’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, old-town Al Balad.
In a statement, Mohammed Al-Turki, chairman of the Red Sea International Festival Committee, said: “We are grateful to the film and local community who put their trust in us. This was huge undertaking and the team worked extremely hard to deliver a festival that I believe exceeded expectations,”.
The festival will showcase a compelling slate of new and perse movies alongside a retrospective program celebrating the masters of cinema. It will also introduce audiences to new voices from the region and beyond.
It aims to provide once again a platform for Arab filmmakers and industry professionals worldwide to connect.
The festival will present a series of events, masterclasses, and workshops to support emerging talent.
