Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans' epic Christmas action-comedy movie “Red One,” is coming to Prime Video just in time for Christmas.
Despite it’s still playing in theaters, “Red One” will be available on the streaming platform starting on December 12.
Per the official synopsis, “After Santa Claus (played by J.K. Simmons) – Code Name: ‘Red One’ – is kidnapped, the North Pole’s Head of Security (Johnson) must team up with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter (Evans) in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas.”
"Red One" is directed by Johnson’s Jumanji collaborator, Jake Kasdan, from a script penned by Fast & Furious and Hobbs & Shaw scribe Chris Morgan.
The pic was based on an original story by Hiram Garcia, president of production at Seven Bucks Productions. It is described as a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy, imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.
The four-quadrant family movie, which has plans to be an extensive franchise with merchandising throughout the Amazon universe, boasts a cast that includes Lucy Liu, Bonnie Hunt, Kiernan Shipka, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and Wesley Kimmel.
The Amazon MGM film has grossed $164 million at the worldwide box office so far after originally being set as a streaming-only release.
“Red One” was produced by Seven Bucks Productions’ Hiram Garcia, Johnson and Dany Garcia; Chris Morgan Productions’ Chris Morgan; Kasdan for the Detective Agency and Melvin Mar.
