The Syndicate of Journalists’ Tourism and Antiquities Division, in cooperation with the Zahi Hawass Foundation for Antiquities and Heritage, hosted a major seminar and lecture yesterday evening, Sunday, delivered by the world-renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass. The event was held under the title: *"The Campaign to Repatriate Smuggled Egyptian Antiquities: Between the Dream of Return and Boosting Tourism."

The seminar, which took place in the great writer Mohamed Hassanein Heikal Hall on the fourth floor of the Syndicate's headquarters, witnessed a massive turnout of journalists, researchers, and cultural heritage enthusiasts, alongside several tourism and antiquities officials. The Syndicate opened the floor for a broad and extensive open discussion and a Q&A session for all attendees.

During the lecture, Dr. Zahi Hawass reviewed the national and international efforts exerted to collect signatures and reclaim Egypt's looted heritage. He shed light on the strategic and legal dimensions of the campaigns to repatriate smuggled antiquities, emphasizing the close link between reclaiming these unique artifacts and boosting inbound tourism to Egypt.

Journalist Ahmed Osman, Head of the Tourism and Antiquities Division at the Syndicate of Journalists, stated that this lecture falls within the framework of the Syndicate's ongoing national and awareness-raising role to preserve Egyptian identity and support all efforts aimed at recovering our looted heritage and history abroad.
