Razane Jammal Makes Writing Debut with Children’s Book "Lulu and Blu"

British-Lebanese actress Razane Jammal has been enthralling audiences both in the MENA region and abroad with her different roles. Now, she has another facet to her repertoire: author.

Jammal has penned her first children’s book, “Lulu and Blu."

The book, illustrated by Lebanese artist Sasha Haddad, follows Lulu, a little vegetarian lioness who doesn’t quite fit in. She feels misunderstood and lonely until she meets Blu, a friendly fish with a very different worldview. Somehow, despite their wildly opposite lives, the two become best friends.

Available in both English and Arabic, the book is launching on June 25, and will be available for purchase at Antoine and Virgin Megastore in Lebanon, at Virgin Megastore and Bookworm in the UAE, Diwan Bookstore in Egypt, and online at amazon.ae.

Jammal showcased her acting talent in Marwan Hamed's blockbuster "kira & El Gin" — the third highest-grossing film in Egyptian box office history — for which she was awarded the Best Actress in a Supporting Role Award at the 49th edition of Cairo Film Society.

Jammal also made a name for herself in the international film industry with her diverse roles in French, British, and American projects, three of which have participated at the Cannes Film Festival — "Cruel Summer" (2012) by Kanye West,"Une Histoire de Fou" (2014) by Robert Guediguian, and "Carlos" (2010) by Olivier Assayas, which received a Golden Globe in 2011.
