Rachel McAdams is in early talks to star in Sam Raimi‘s "Send Help", the horror-thriller from 20th Century Studios, which he is producing and directing.
The movie is described as a two-hander horror thriller set on an island, the story falls somewhere between Rob Reiner’s Stephen King adaptation of "Misery" and Robert Zemeckis’ classic "Castaway".

"Send Help" is based on an original script by Baywatch scribes Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. He will also produce alongside Zainab Azizi under Raimi Productions.
One of the most influential genre filmmakers still working, Raimi is responsible for the Evil Dead franchise, whose most recent installment, Evil Dead Rise, grossed over $147 million worldwide last spring. Two new, untitled installments from directors Francis Galluppi and Sébastien Vaniček and Raimi and Robert Tapert’s Ghost House Pictures are currently in the works.
Raimi’s most recent forgo as a director is "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness", which generated over $955M globally for Marvel. He is also known for his directing work on the Spider-Man franchise and "Oz the Great and Powerful". As a producer, his upcoming movies include the horror thriller "Don’t Move", which Netflix swooped on in April, and the horror thriller "Locked", starring Bill Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins, which is currently in post.
Perhaps best known for co-scripting Paramount’s 2017 take on "Baywatch", starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, Shannon and Swift before that co-wrote a pair of horror projects: 2003’s "Freddy vs. Jason" and 2009’s "Friday the 13th".
The Oscar-nominated McAdams’ oeuvre spans over two decades and numerous genres. She is best known for her star-making portrayals in "Mean Girls", "The Notebook", "About Time", "Disobedience", "Spotlight", 'Game Night", and "Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret". She previously collaborated with Raimi on "Doctor Strange 2". She most recently appeared on FX’s "Dave" as herself.
