Qatar has suspended all maritime activities until further notice as a precautionary measure, according to the Ministry of Transport.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry urged owners and operators of all marine vessels, including leisure boats, fishing boats, jet skis and similar watercraft, to temporarily halt sailing and other maritime activities until further notice in the interest of public safety.

The announcement came amid reports of renewed military escalation across the Gulf. According to the article, Iran launched fresh attacks targeting Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE and Kuwait, prompting the four countries to activate their air defense systems and tighten security measures.

According to Qatar's Ministry of Defense, the armed forces intercepted a missile attack targeting the country and said its air defense systems remain fully prepared to respond to any threats.

The UAE's Ministry of Defense said it was responding to missile and drone attacks launched from Iran, adding that sounds heard in several areas were caused by interceptions of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.

Bahrain's state television reported that the country's air defense systems intercepted and destroyed Iranian aerial attacks before authorities later announced that the danger had passed and the alert had been lifted.

According to the article, Kuwait's military also announced that it had intercepted hostile aerial targets within the country's airspace, marking its first official confirmation of interception operations since the latest escalation. No further details were provided on the nature of the targets or the outcome of the operation.
