DreamWorks unveiled Tuesday a new trailer for the long-awaited movie “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”, the sequel to 2011’s “Puss in Boots“.
It follows Puss in Boots (voiced by Antonio Banderas) living the last of his nine lives. Together, with warrior Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek), and Perro (Harvey Guillen) a therapy dog disguised as a cat, the feline must journey to find the mythical Last Wish to restore the lives he has lost.
The footage depicted Puss in Boots taking it slow and settling down as a “normal” cat while living his last life.
It depicted the feline's new adventure among house cats and doing absolutely ordinary stuff like going to the litter box and getting renamed “Pickles”.
The sequel will also star many notable celebrities and comedians joining the Shrek universe, including Florence Pugh, Olivia Colman, Wagner Moura, Ray Winstone, John Mulaney, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Anthony Mendez, and Samson Kayo.
The original movie was a Shrek spinoff following Puss’ adventures prior to his debut appearance in Shrek 2.
It is scripted by Paul Fisher, directed by Joel Crawford, and produced by Mark Swift. Januel Mercado will also serve as co-director.
“Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” is set to release in theaters on December 21.
