Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher is wreaking havoc in the official trailer for his Marvel TV special, “Punisher: One Last Kill.” It will be released on Disney+ on May 12, one week after the Season 2 finale of “Daredevil: Born Again.”

The clip shows Bernthal getting set on fire while seeing and hearing hallucinations of people talking to him.

Not much is known about the special, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and co-written by him and Bernthal, but it seems like Punisher is embarking on another bloody revenge mission.

Bernthal first took on the mantle of Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, in Season 2 of Netflix’s original “Daredevil” series.

It introduced the ultra-violent vigilante who was both a friend and foe toward Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.

Like his comic book backstory, Castle is a former soldier who goes on a revenge mission after his wife and children were murdered. He’s becomes an angry, gun-toting anti-hero, dressed in all black except for the iconic white skull on his chest, who pumps his enemies full of lead on his quest for vengeance.

After his “Daredevil” introduction, Bernthal headlined two seasons of his own Netflix “Punisher” series.

Marvel then migrated all of its Netflix street-level superhero shows to Disney+, including “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist” and “The Defenders.”

Cox’s Daredevil was the first Netflix star to make the jump to the proper MCU with a cameo in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” then continued his story in “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+.

Bernthal had a supporting role in “Born Again” Season 1 and teamed up with Daredevil to take on Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, who became the mayor of New York City.

In the Season 1 finale, Punisher was imprisoned by Kingpin’s police force but managed to escape in the post-credits scene.

Up next, he’ll appear in this summer’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”
