The producer of the controversial Israeli television series Tehran has been found dead in a hotel room in the Greek capital, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
Greek police announced the discovery of the body of Dana Eden, 52, inside a hotel room in Athens after a relative reported being unable to reach her.
An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
According to Reuters, authorities are initially treating the case as a suspected suicide, based on available evidence and witness statements.
Investigators said medication pills were found at the scene, while a forensic examiner noted bruising on Eden’s neck.
In a statement, her production company, Donna and Shula Productions, said family members and colleagues are in “deep mourning,” dismissing circulating rumors suggesting criminal involvement or political motives behind the incident.
Israel’s public broadcaster Kan reported that Eden had been in Greece filming the fourth season of the series at the time of her death.
The circumstances of Eden’s death remain under investigation by Greek authorities.
