Sony Pictures released Tuesday the official trailer for Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan's romantic comedy movie "Love Again".
The movie is directed by Jim Strouse, who also co-wrote it alongside Lauryn Kahn. It is based on the 2016 German movie “SMS Fur Dich”, which was based on a novel of the same name, published in 2009 by Sofie Cramer.
The plot revolves around a woman (Chopra Jonas) who begins to send “romantic text messages” to her deceased fiancé's old cell phone, but little did she know, that the number has been reassigned to Rob Burns’ new work phone (Heughan), who is suffering from similar heartbreak.
A journalist Rob, is captivated by the honesty in the beautifully confessional texts. When he’s assigned to write a profile of Canadian music icon Celine Dion (playing herself in her first film role), he enlists her help on how to meet Mira in person and win her heart.
In the trailer, viewers are introduced to how Mira and Rob connect through text. Mira, who is grieving her late fiancé, starts leaving messages on his old phone number without knowing that his number had been reassigned to Rob for work.
It also shows how Rob is captivated by Mira’s texts to her late fiancé and finds her honesty intriguing while admitting his feelings for someone he has never met. When he is assigned to work on a profile on Celine Dion, he seeks her help to come up with a way to meet Mira and win her heart.
Dion isn’t the only singer starring in the romance movie, Chopra's husband, singer-actor Nick Jonas, makes a cameo in the movie.
He is seen in the footage playing Mira’s date after she is advised by her friend to get back into the dating scene.
"Love Again" features old and new music from the five-time Grammy winner. It is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Esther Hornstein, and Erica Lee.
Executive producers are Sophie Cassidy, Louise Killin, Doug Belgrad, Jonathan Fuhrman, and Dion.
