Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, held a meeting this evening at the Grand Egyptian Museum with officials from the United Media Services Company to review the current status of the final arrangements and preparations for the museum’s highly anticipated opening ceremony. The meeting was attended by Mr. Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities; Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities; Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum; Major General Atef Moftah, General Supervisor of the GEM project and surrounding area; and Mr. Mohamed El Saadi, Board Member of United Media Services and General Supervisor of the opening ceremony.
At the outset, the Prime Minister expressed his full confidence in the team overseeing this major event, managed by United Media Services, emphasizing that the entire world is eagerly awaiting the museum’s official opening. He praised the organizers, led by Mr. Mohamed El Saadi, noting their proven success in executing world-class events such as the Royal Mummies Parade and the Avenue of Sphinxes inauguration in Luxor, describing them as professionals who deliver exceptional results under tight deadlines.
Dr. Madbouly added that since the early stages of planning, he has had great faith in the team chosen by United Media Services to handle the artistic, technical, and production aspects of the ceremony—including sound, lighting, and performances. He commended the young Egyptian talents behind the project, confident that they will deliver an event that dazzles the world and showcases Egypt’s ancient civilization through cutting-edge artistic technology. He noted that more than two billion viewers worldwide are expected to follow the event, with Egyptian embassies abroad streaming it live via a special online link.
While attending rehearsals for some of the artistic performances, the Prime Minister told Mr. El Saadi that he looked forward to seeing the world witness Egypt’s organizational excellence and the creativity of its youth—not only in displaying its ancient treasures but also in demonstrating Egypt’s ability to innovate and lead.
Dr. Madbouly extended his gratitude to the United Media Services team and to Mr. Mohamed El Saadi, who in turn expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister’s encouragement and presence during the preparations.
