Health Affairs Presidential Advisor Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din said Egypt managed to secure large amounts of the internationally approved Covid-19 vaccines.
In televised remarks, Tag El-Din added that Egypt is dealing professionally with the Coronavirus pandemic, stressing that the epidemiological situation of coronavirus (COVID-19) is ‘under control’.
He also noted that the state aims to vaccinate 40% of its population against COVID-19 by the end of 2021.
On Sunday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 935 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s total up to 343,961.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 19,499 nationwide after the ministry announced 64 deaths.
About 791 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 287,682.
