Today, Tuesday, European Council President Charles Michel stressed Egypt's role in the ceasefire negotiations, the release of hostages, and the provision of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The President of the Council said - in a tweet on his account on the (X) platform - “Egypt is a key player in ceasefire negotiations, the release of hostages, and in providing humanitarian aid.”

He added, "The European Union will continue to support efforts aimed at bringing an immediate end to this crisis and ensuring the protection of all civilians, and we will continue to work with you and all key partners towards a two-state solution."

It is noteworthy that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met earlier today with the President of the European Council, on the sidelines of the International Conference for the Emergency Humanitarian Response to Gaza at the Dead Sea in Jordan.

Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, explained in a statement that the meeting witnessed confirmation of the strength and depth of relations and partnership between Egypt and the European Union, especially after the relations were recently upgraded to the level of a strategic and comprehensive partnership, which opens the door to further strengthening cooperation in light of common ties and interests. Which brings the two sides together.
