PM Makes Night Tour to Check Final Arrangements for Grand Egyptian Museum Opening Ceremony

​The Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, following the conclusion of the Council of Ministers' meetings this evening, was keen to tour the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) to inspect the final arrangements and preparations for the major ceremony to be held on Saturday, November 1st. He was accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Museum Authority, and Mr. Mohamed El-Saady, Board Member of the United Media Services Company and General Supervisor of the GEM opening ceremony.

​The Prime Minister emphasized that he was keen on conducting this night tour to ensure the complete finalization of all preparations for the grand celebration that the Egyptian state will host to mark the opening of this magnificent cultural landmark. This is particularly important with the expected arrival of a large number of heads of state, leaders, and prime ministers from numerous countries, as well as the participation of various foreign delegations, prominent personalities, and a selection of senior officials from around the world. He stressed that this celebration reflects the grandeur of this global edifice and embodies the scale of achievement and development that Egypt is witnessing across various fields, befitting its civilized standing before the world.

​Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stated: "There are directives from His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for continued cooperation and coordination among the relevant authorities to ensure the organization of an opening ceremony that befits Egypt's stature, reflects its leadership in global museums and culture, and contributes to enhancing tourism promotion for the country."

​During his tour, the Prime Minister was briefed on the status of the final preparations and arrangements for upgrading efficiency and improving the visual appearance, as well as the development of roads and axes leading to the Grand Egyptian Museum. He also checked on the nighttime lighting systems and the ongoing preparations for rehearsals of the artistic and performance segments of the celebration.

​Dr. Mostafa Madbouly also inspected the ongoing preparations inside the Grand Egyptian Museum and the various exhibition halls, and followed up on the arrangements for receiving the official and international delegations scheduled to participate in the anticipated opening events.

​During the tour, Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim reviewed the final stages of preparation and the plans for receiving visitors and international delegations.

​The tour included inspecting the Shooting Club Square (Midan El-Ramy), the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, the vicinity of Sphinx Airport, and the area surrounding and inside the Grand Egyptian Museum, to follow up on paving, beautification, and general coordination works. Officials confirmed that efforts were made to create the overall atmosphere for the celebration by upgrading the efficiency of roads, axes, and areas surrounding the museum, beautifying the squares, and intensifying cleaning, landscaping, and lighting works to reflect the spirit of joy and welcome for Egypt's guests from around the world, and to showcase the appropriate civilized image that matches Egypt's standing and ancient history.

​In conclusion of his tour, the Prime Minister directed that all final preparations and arrangements for the opening ceremony must be completed, and that the readiness of the various organizational and logistical procedures and aspects of this highly anticipated event be confirmed.
