Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly visited Luxor, on Wednesday, in order to follow up the ceremonial preparations for ‘Al-Kabbash Roa’ project.
This comes within the framework of celebrating Luxor’s National Day, in addition to the opening of a number of other project.
Madbouly was accompanied by Dr. Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Local Development, Mostafa Elham, Governor of Luxor, and Dr. Mustafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
The Prime Minister inspected the prominent archaeological project, and listened to El-Anany’s explanation about the steps of development and the other works.
In this sense, El-Anany affirmed that the discovery of ‘Al-Kabbash Road’ began for the first time in 1949. Then, excavations and discoveries continued through successive decades thanks to Egyptian workers.
The tourism minister also pointed out that the road length is about 2.7 km, extending from Karnak in the north, passing through the Mut Temple, and ending with Luxor Temple in the south.
Finally, the prime minister and his entourage visited Karnak Temple to inspect the restoration work of the great pillared hall there.
