Earlier this month, Madbouli launched CHIS in Port Said province. He said that the new system is one of the most important national projects being implemented in Egypt.

Port Said province is the first governorate to launch the new comprehensive health insurance services.  These services, which are considered as a part of sustainable development goals, aim at providing the highest level of health care to Egyptians.

The Ministry of Health will manage the pilot phase period, in July and August, then the units and hospitals will be handed over to health care organization.

The new comprehensive health insurance system, in Port Said, is a long-awaited dream for Egyptians who are seeking to obtain medical service in accordance with the  international standards.

Earlier, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, conducted a series of visits to Port Said province to follow-up the preparation ahead of the launching of the new comprehensive health insurance project.

She also inspected the readiness of the new hospitals in addition to medical and non-medical equipment.
