PM Launches CHIS in Port Said

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly launched, Monday, Comprehensive health insurance system (CHIS) in Port Said province.

The Prime Minister, a number of concerned ministers and Port Said Governor Major General Adel Ghadban, will hold a press conference on the comprehensive health insurance system's launching.

The Prime Minister said that the new system is one of the most important national projects being implemented in Egypt.

Port Said province is the first governorate to launch the new comprehensive health insurance services.  These services, which are considered as a part of sustainable development goals, aim at providing the highest level of health care to Egyptians.

During the pilot phase of the system, which will continue for two months and end on September 1, high quality medical services will be provided to the citizens in accordance with Egyptian national standards

The Ministry of Health will manage the pilot phase period, in July and August, then the units and hospitals will be handed over to health care organization.

The new comprehensive health insurance system, in Port Said, is a long-awaited dream for Egyptians who are seeking to obtain medical service in accordance with the  international standards.

Earlier, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, conducted a series of visits to Port Said province  to follow-up the preparation ahead of the launching of  the new comprehensive health insurance project.

She also inspected the readiness of the new hospitals in addition to medical and non-medical equipment.
