Egypt's Prime Minister (PM) Moustafa Madbouli cast his ballot Tuesday in Senate elections at the Egyptian-Japanese School committee in Sheikh Zayed City, Giza.
Madbouli urged all citizens to actively participate in this new constitutional merit, in light of the democratic climate witnessed by Egypt, which guarantees the expression of opinions with the utmost freedom.

Moreover, the premier emphasized that this constitutional merit contributes to creating a second chamber for legislation "the Senate", to represent the Egyptian society with all its sects, and enrich political life in Egypt.
It is worth mentioning that, elections for Egypt’s Senate kicked off Tuesday with polling stations opening their doors for Egyptians until 9:00 pm.
Egyptians expats cast their ballots via mails on Sunday and Monday.
Meanwhile, the electoral process at home will be held over two days.
Ibrahim Lashin, Head of National Elections Authority (NEA), said that a total of 787 candidates are competing for seats in the 300-seat chamber.
Two-thirds of the members will be elected via the inpidual candidacy and the closed party list systems, and the rest will be appointed by the president.
Only 100 of the total number of candidates will compete for the party list seats, with the remainder running for inpidual seats.
