Pixar’s "Inside Out" Spinoff Series Gets 2025 Release Window

Pete Docter, the Chief Creative Officer at Pixar Animation Studios, shared more details about the highly-anticipated "Inside Out" spinoff series coming to Disney+ in 2025.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the filmmaker said: “We have finished. It’s coming out next spring. I’m not sure that there’s been a specific release date. In the first film, remember we go to Dream Production to see how Riley’s dreams are made? It semi-explains why they’re so weird,:.

Docter added, “We’ve continued the exploration of the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking life, as well. So it’s pretty cool.”

The spinoff series comes as "Inside Out 2" has proven to be a global box office success. The Pixar sequel has broken multiple records. 

At $154.2M, "Inside Out 2" is the second-biggest domestic animated opening of all time and the second-largest for the animation studio. 

It also broke the record for the biggest opening for an animated movie worldwide, bringing in $295M.

Amy Poehler returned to voice Joy for "Inside Out 2". 

The pic, directed by Kelsey Mann from a screenplay by Meg LeFauve and Dave Holstein, follows Riley (voiced by Kensington Tallman) and the emotions that play out in her head. 

Other actors who reprised their roles from the first film include Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Diane Lane, and Kyle MacLachlan. Joining the voice cast were Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman, Tony Hale, Liza Lapira, Ayo Edebiri, Lilimar, Grace Lu, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, Adèle Exarchopoulos, and Paul Walter Hauser.
