"Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin" Renewed for Season 2

Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin” has been renewed for Season 2 at Peacock. 

The comedy series spinoff of the “Pitch Perfect” franchise debuted on the streamer on November 23. 

The series sees Adam Devine reprise his role as Bumper Allen as he moves to Germany to revive his music career when one of his songs becomes big in Berlin.   Rebel Wilson and Adam Devine in

Allen was the main antagonist of the first move and the leader of the all-male a cappella group, "The Treblemakers". The actor returned in the second movie as a supporting character and the love interest of Rebel Wilson’s character, Fat Amy.

Along with Devine, the cast of Season 1 included Flula Borg, Sarah Hyland, Lera Abova, and Jameela Jamil. 

Per NBCU, “Bumper in Berlin”  scored the biggest comedy premiere in Peacock history as it was watched by more accounts in its launch weekend than any other Peacock Original comedy to date.

Megan Amram created the series and serves as executive producer and showrunner. Banks and Handelman executive produce via Brownstone Productions, with Paul Brooks and Scott Neimeyer of Gold Circle Films and Devine also executive producing. 

Todd Strauss-Schulson directed the first two episodes and executive produced the series premiere. Richie Keen directed episodes three, four, and six and executive produces. Maureen Bharoocha directed episode five. Universal Television is the studio. 

Amram is currently under an overall deal with Universal Television.

Brownstone and Gold Circle produced all three movies in the “Pitch Perfect” franchise, with Banks having directed “Pitch Perfect 2″ and appeared onscreen in all three movies.

Inspired by the Mickey Rapkin book of the same name, the first “Pitch Perfect” movie was released in 2012, with the third and final movie released in 2017. The franchise grossed nearly $600 million worldwide.

Along with Devine and Wilson, the franchise also starred Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, and Hailee Steinfeld.

Aside from his work in “Pitch Perfect”, Devine also starred in movies such as “Game Over, Man!”, “Isn’t It Romantic”, “Jexi”, “Magic Camp”, and “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates”.
