Piqué Embarrassed by 'Shakira, Shakira' Chants at El Clasico (Video)

Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué got booed at El Clasico in Las Vegas and received chants of 'Shakira, Shakira' every time he touched the ball against Real Madrid.

Piqué subbed on in the second half and as soon as he made first contact with the ball, booes rained down from the Colombian singer's fans.

Some fans kept chanting Shakira's name but the Spanish soccer player just ignored them. Rafinha scored the only goal of the game but Piqué getting booed for his drama with Shakira was the highlight of the night.

Last June, the "Hips Don't Lie" singer Shakira broke up with Piqué after catching the latter in bed with another woman, according to media reports.

The pop star kicked Piqué out of the family home, Spanish outlet El Periodico reported, noting that the footballer is having a great time on his own and living a “party lifestyle” since the break-up.

Other media reports claimed that the player has been frequenting nightclubs with team-mate Riqui Puig and his group of friends, often returning home as late as two or three in the morning.

A reporter asked the footballer if he did cheat on Shakira but the latter did not comment and walked away.

El Periodico journalist Emilio Pérez de Rozas noted that he’s confident that the couple will split.

“(Shakira) has made the decision to separate. That is so. It has happened. That is why there is distance. Perhaps there is nothing left, but that (infidelity) has passed,” he said during a live video stream of the podcast Mamarazzis earlier this week.
