Dr. Al-Mallahi: Physiotherapy College to be Instituted at Al- Nahda University

The College of Physiotherapy at Al- Nahda University is about to sign a cooperation agreement with a prestigious American university for the exchange of faculty professors and students.

Dr. Hussam Al-Mallahi, President of Al-Nahda University, stated that the University's College of Physiotherapy is the latest addition to the distinguished faculties and degrees awarded by Al-Nahda University since the college begins this year by following national and international standards for higher education and teaching methods.

Thus the College of Physiotherapy becomes the eighth college among the university's faculties, which include faculties of (human medicine - medicine and oral and dental surgery - pharmacy, engineering, computer science, business administration, media, and public relations).

Engineer Muhammad Al-Rashidi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Nahda University, confirmed that the administration supported the College of Physiotherapy with all its needs and equipped it with the latest machines and devices.

The equipment was brought from the United States and Europe to ensure that students get trained with the latest treatment protocols around the world.

On his part, Dr. Alaa Balbaa, Dean of the College of Physical Therapy, explained that the college includes six departments, including basic sciences, biomechanics, physical therapy of orthopedics and surgery and sports Injuries, physiotherapy for Neurology and its surgery, physiotherapy of pediatric diseases and surgery, physiotherapy for surgery, dermatology, gynecology, and childbirth and internal medicine physiotherapy.

The College of Physical Therapy includes a distinguished and selected group of faculty members, and the college is distinguished by the presence of central research laboratories equipped at the highest level.

The college has an anatomy lab, anatomy museum, physiology laboratory, tissue lab, biochemistry lab, biophysics lab, biomechanics lab, computer science lab, children lab, heart and lung lab, electrotherapy lab, electrodiagnostic lab, hydrotherapy, movement analysis lab, therapeutic exercises lab, measurement lab, and manual therapy lab.

The College of Physiotherapy at Al- Nahda University follows the standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation.

It also follows the standards of education for the programs of the International Federation of Physiotherapy; students of the college will participate from the first year in attending physiotherapy conferences to ensure their interaction with every discussion in this field.
