US pop stars Pharrell Williams and Miley Cyrus have collaborated on a new single titled, “Doctor”.
Pharrell announced Friday the collaboration on Instagram alongside sharing a snippet of the track and revealed it would be coming “soon.”
This isn’t the first time Pharrell has previewed “Doctor”: The song was played in his Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Fall-Winter 2024 Collection show in Paris last month.
According to Rolling Stone, the track dates back to 2013 and was possibly meant for Miley’s album "Bangerz" but didn’t make the cut. An unedited demo version of the song leaked in 2017.
Skateboard P produced several songs from Bangerz and the duo reunited in the following year for the funky anthem ”Come Get It Bae.”
“I have this theory about Disney artists: They have the best work ethic ever,” Pharrell said in 2013, linking up with the Hannah Montana star. “She had inquired about working with me, but I had inquired about looking for her—we found each other at the same time.”
The year started fantastically for Cyrus, who took home her first two Grammy Award victories earlier this month when her hit “Flowers” won Record of the Year as well as Best Pop Solo Performance. The pop star had previously been nominated for two Grammys before collecting her first trophies this month.
