New Line has finally unveiled the teaser trailer for Lee Cronin‘s "The Mummy," an original supernatural horror film from the writer and director of "Evil Dead Rise".
The project is not related to Universal’s reboot of its Mummy franchise starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz.
The official logline for Cronin‘s "The Mummy" follows "The young daughter of a journalist who disappears into the desert without a trace. Eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare."
The supernatural horror stars Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Veronica Falcón.
James Wan, Jason Blum and John Keville produced, with Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Macdara Kelleher and Cronin serving as exec producers.
"The Mummy" is Cronin’s next project after "Evil Dead Rise," a critically acclaimed installment in the long-running horror franchise, which brought New Line over $147 million worldwide.
Prior to that, the Irish filmmaker broke out with the Sundance horror pic "The Hole in the Ground".
Lee Cronin's "The Mummy" hits theaters and IMAX on April 17 via Warner Bros. Check out the teaser trailer below.
