Xolo Mariduña, best known for playing Miguel Diaz on “Cobra Kai” and the title character in “Blue Beetle,” has been cast as Portgas D. Ace in season 3 of Netflix’s pirate fantasy adventure series “One Piece.”

The character, who is also known as “Fire Fist” Ace, was the captain of the Spade Pirates before being recruited into the Whitebeard Pirates.

Mariduña joins the recently announced “Oh, Mary!” Tony winner Cole Escola, who will portray the assassin Bon Clay in “One Piece” Season 3.

“One Piece” is a live-action adaptation of the manga series by Eiichiro Oda. It follows a boy named Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), who journeys across the seas with his pirate crew in search of a mythical treasure called “One Piece,” which would crown him the next King of the Pirates.

The series also stars Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Jacob Gibson as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Vincent Regan as Monkey D. Garp, Jeff Ward as Buggy the Clown and Morgan Davies as Koby.

Season 2 will introduce Mikaela Hoover as the voice of the blue-nosed reindeer-boy Tony Tony Chopper, and Charithra Chandran as the mysterious Miss Wednesday.

“One Piece” will return on Netflix on March 10, 2026, with its second installment.

The series secured an early renewal from Netflix, as Season 3 will enter production later this year in Cape Town, South Africa.

“One Piece” was created in partnership with Shueisha and is produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Netflix.

Original manga creator Oda executive produces alongside Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements through Tomorrow Studios, as well as Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe and Steven Maeda.
