Sendhil Ramamurthy has been tapped to play Nefertari Cobra in the second season of the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s best-selling manga “One Piece”.

Ramamurthy is the latest new addition to the live-action adaptation of the popular manga and anime series.

He will appear alongside fellow new Season 2 cast members Katey Sagal and Mark Harelik as well as Daniel Lasker, Camrus Johnson, Jazzara Jaslyn, David Dastmalchian, Werner Coetser, Brendan Murray, Clive Russell, Callum Kerr, Julia Rehwald, Rob Colletti, and Ty Keogh.

In “One Piece” lore, Nefertari Cobra is the King of Alabasta and the patriarch of the Nefertari family.

Ramamurthy previously appeared in the Netflix series “Never Have I Ever” as Mohan Vishwakumar. He is perhaps best known for his role as Dr. Mohinder Suresh in the hit NBC series “Heroes,” a role he reprised in the 2015 revival “Heroes Reborn.”

He has also been in shows like “Doom Patrol,” “Covert Affairs,” “New Amsterdam,” and the CW series “Beauty & the Beast.”

“One Piece” stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, leader of the Straw Hat Pirates. He and his crew search the Blue Sea for the mythical One Piece treasure. If he can find it, he will become King of the Pirates.

The cast also includes Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger.

Season 2 is currently in production. Matt Owens and Joe Tracz serve as writers, co-showrunners, and executive producers on Season 2.

“One Piece’s” original creator Eiichiro Oda and former co-showrunner Steven Maeda also executive produce along with Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, and Chris Symes.

The series is created in partnership with Shueisha and produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Netflix.
