Egypt's showbiz fraternity took to social media to remember late actor Samir Ghanem, the so-called "Samora", on his first death anniversary May 20, Friday.
His two daughters the renowned actress Donia and the comedian star Amy and others took to social media to mourn the loss of late actor Samir Ghanem and wrote heartfelt notes in remembrance.
"People will never forget you," said Donia who commemorated her father's 1st death anniversary today and paid tribute to him on her official social media platforms.
Meanwhile, her only sister Amy wrote in her official twitter page, "You're every breath that I take."
Renowned actor and his co-star Khaled Sarhan also shared in an Instagram post: "Today, marks the 1st death anniversary of Egypt's Cinematic Genius, who made people across the Arab world laugh and happy." "God rest his soul."
Born in January 1937 Al-ʿAtawlah, Asyut province, he received his BA from the Agriculture Department at the Alexandria University in the 1960s.
His first breakthrough came with his role in the popular play “EL-Motzawgein” (The Married Couples).
Ghanem is known for starring in shows such as (Goha Rules the City), ‘Faris wa Bani Khayban’ (The Knight and Disaster Clan), ‘Akhuya Hayes wana Layes’ (Happy Is My Brother, Lost Am I) , ‘Ana wal-Nizam wa Hawak’ (Me, the Government and Your Love), ‘Bahloul fi Istanbul’ (Bahloul in Istanbul) and ‘Ana wa Mirati wa Monica’ (Me, My Wife and Monica).
