Olivia Dean, Rosalía and more artists made history at the 2026 BRIT Awards, which were presented at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, England.
Dean was the big winner at the show picking up four trophies. She triumphed in the album of the year, artist of the year and pop act categories as a soloist, and shared song of the year with her collaborator Sam Fender for their song “Rein Me In.”
Dean was nominated twice in the latter category with “Rein Me In” and solo track “Man I Need” both in contention.
RAYE retains the record for the most awards won by an artist in a single night, taking home six in 2024.
The BRITs took place outside of London for the first time in its history, opting for the Co-op Live in Manchester.
The show saw live performances from Dean, Harry Styles, Wolf Alice, Alex Warren, HUNTR/X and more.
Comedian Jack Whitehall hosted the ceremony for a sixth time.
As predicted, Dean made the biggest impression with her first ever BRIT wins. Her sophomore LP The Art of Loving took the coveted album of the year prize, seeing off competition from Dave, Lilly Allen, Sam Fender and Wolf Alice.
She also took home the artist of the year prize continuing a trend seen for the past four ceremonies, where the winners between both categories have been shared following Adele (2022), Harry Styles (2023), RAYE (2024) and Charli xcx (2025).
Fender continued his hot streak by also triumphing in the alternative/rock act category, a field he has now won in consecutive years, and for the third time in five years. Lola Young emerged with best breakthrough artist to win her first-ever BRITs trophy, and Wolf Alice secured the group of the year prize for the second time in their career.
Rosalía became the first Spanish-language artist to win the international artist of the year category, seeing off competition from Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga and more. Dave became the first two-time winner of hip hop/grime/rap act.
Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “APT.” won in the international song category, with the former becoming the first K-pop artist to win at the BRIT Awards. HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” the breakout hit song from KPop Demon Hunters, was performed during a pre-recorded segment of the ceremony.
The awards were voted on by BRITs Voting Academy, made up of industry figures, artists, critics and more. The song of the year and international song of the year categories were voted for by fans via WhatsApp.
A number of honorary awards were presented at the ceremony with Noel Gallagher collecting songwriter of the year, PinkPantheress earning producer of the year and Mark Ronson winning the outstanding contribution to music. Ozzy Osbourne was honored with a posthumous lifetime achievement award and a tribute performance led by Robbie Williams.
An In Memoriam segment paid tribute to a number of late musical icons, with local hero Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield, the former Stone Roses bassist who died in November 2025, recognised by The Charlatans’ frontman Tim Burgess.
