The activities of the 12th Conference of the OIC Ministers of Tourism were concluded in the Uzbekistan, with the participation of Ghada Shalabi, Deputy Minister for Tourism Affairs, on behalf of Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities.
During her speech, Shalabi stressed the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and Uzbekistan in all fields, pointing to the city of Cairo that preserves some of the historical places and evidence of Uzbek scholars, such as the Nilometer in Cairo, which was built by Ahmed Al-Farghani in 861, and the Uzbek Garden established by Saif Al-Din Uzbek Al-Yousifi, which became a popular destination for Cairo residents, as well as the Azbakeya neighborhood.
She also referred to the efforts made by the Egyptian state through the development work implemented and underway in Historic Cairo to raise the efficiency of the tourism services provided there to provide unique multi-experience for tourists.
