Libyan National Army (LNA) is ready to respond to any attack targeting the oil crescent region and to confront Turkish ambitions, according to Major-General Khaled Al-Mahjoub, Director of the Moral Guidance Department at LNA.
"All Turkish forces and their militias must withdraw from Libya, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement," Al-Mahjoub said, according to the 'Sky News' website.
Concerning the exchange of prisoners' process, he added that it has been conducted amid a positive atmosphere, revealing LNA readiness for more exchanges.
Earlier Saturday, the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) welcomed the exchange of 48 prisoners between the Libyan National Army (LNA) and the Government of National Accord (GNA), according to Sputnik news agency.
In a tweet, the mission said, “UNSMIL welcomes the remarkable success registered today by the exchange of prisoners from both sides under the supervision of the Joint Military Commission (5+5), and thanks to the good offices of the tribal sheikhs and elders.”
Moreover, it urged both parties to accelerate the full implementation of the comprehensive ceasefire agreement, signed in Geneva, on October 23, 2020.
