Director of Moral Guidance in the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Khaled Al-Mahjoub, announced on Friday that the LNA has exchanged prisoners with the forces of the Government of National Accord (GNA).
In a press statement, Al-Mahjoub said that the prisoner exchange process was implemented in the Shweref region, southwest of Libya.
According to Al-Mahjoub, the prisoner exchange process was under the supervision of the “5 + 5” Joint Military Committee.
He added that the prisoner exchange process will continue until all prisoners from both sides return to their families.
The "5 + 5" joint military committee had agreed to exchange prisoners between the LNA and the GNA under the auspices of the UN mission in Libya. Media sources revealed that 48 prisoners were exchanged between the two conflicting armies.
