Is an Oasis reunion finally happening?

Founders and famously sparring siblings Liam and Noel Gallagher announced Sunday that the band is getting back together after the pair posted a cryptic clip showcasing the date, August 27, 2024, along with the time, 8 a.m., on X

The official Oasis website also has “27.08.24” displayed on its main page.

While such posts are used as teasers for album reissues or archival videos, except the timing here follows a series of gradually escalating rumors, appears to be no coincidence: After reports circulated over the weekend about Oasis performing in the U.K. in 2025, including a 10-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium, Liam Gallagher fueled speculation about the possible reunion in a series of social media posts.

"I never did like that word FORMER,” the singer wrote on the platform.

Oasis formed in 1991, and took the UK charts by storm in the late 1990s, during which they spearheaded the era of “Britpop” when homegrown bands dominated the charts.

The band's first album "Definitely Maybe" became the fastest selling ever debut album, and their second album 1995 "(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?" secured their status as the UK’s biggest rock stars.

Oasis disbanded in 2009 after the departure of Noel Gallagher.

However, their popularity remains undimmed with 21 million listers on Spotify.

In April of this year, Oasis received its first nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which, if inducted could have led to a reunion between the Gallagher brothers. However, Liam Gallagher quickly shut down that possibility.

In June, Liam Gallagher kicked off a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of Oasis‘ debut studio album “Definitely Maybe.”

A new reissue of the album will be released on August 30.
