On Thursday, the Director of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) Khaled El Kadi denied reports concerning any minor earthquakes near the city Sharm El Sheikh.

Moreover, El Kadi urged the people to be sure of any piece of information regarding earthquakes before sharing it.

El Kadi also asserted that the national network of tracking the earthquakes in Egypt is capable of recording any minor earthquakes.

Egypt's network of monitoring the activity of the earthquakes consists of 70 stations constructed across the country.

El Kadi praised Egypt's history in observing the phenomena of the earthquakes and their impacts since the period of ancient Egypt, asserting that the age of the latest network was constructed 150 years ago.

However, he expressed that Egypt recently witnessed minor magnitude earthquakes near the current active spots of earthquakes such as the Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba.
