The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat is introducing a new "audio guide" service starting on Wednesday, July 10.
This service will be available exclusively in the Royal Mummies Hall, providing historical explanations through special headphones in both Arabic and English, according to a statement recently issued by the Ministry of Tourism.
Visitors can also purchase the audio guide service and their museum entry ticket, which can be booked through the museum's ticket office.
Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Museum Authority, said that this new experience aims to offer an enjoyable journey through history for visitors.
"It will provide in-depth information about the most important kings and queens of Egypt, their lives, achievements, and contributions to ancient Egyptian history. The service will be available in the Royal Mummies Hall throughout the week, with a focus on maintaining a peaceful and respectful environment befitting the historical significance of the displayed royal mummies," he explained.
In turn, Fairouz Fikry, Executive Vice President of the Museum Authority for Management and Operation, highlighted that this new service is part of the museum's efforts to enhance the quality of services for visitors and improve their overall museum experience.
Additionally, the museum has previously launched a guided tour service in cooperation with the Tourist Guides Syndicate, providing guides to accompany visitors through the central hall and the Egyptian Textile Hall, offering explanations in both Arabic and English. These tours are available three times a day and must be booked online through the museum's official website at least 48 hours in advance.
