Tubi has released the official trailer for the sequel to the 1968 Pittsburgh-shot movie "Night of the Living Dead", revealing numerous details about the upcoming title.
The zombie sequel is titled "Festival of the Dead" and premieres on the streamer on Friday, April 5.
The cast stars Ashley Moore, Camren Bicondova, Andre Anthony, Christian Rose, Shiloh O’Reilly, Gage Marsh, and more.
The official logline reads:" While attending a festival to commemorate the original zombie attack, Ash and her friends encounter the undead and must fight back or be devoured."
"Festival of the Dead" honors the original film's legacy with a new zombie-filled storyline and follows Ben’s grandchildren 55 years after the outbreak that started the entire Living Dead universe.
While Living Dead has had many “sequels” like Dawn and Day of the Dead, they were sequels in name only, as they follow completely new characters in completely different locations.
"Festival of the Dead" is directed by Nikyatu Jusu and written by LaToya Morgan. Scribe Morgan was a writer-producer on "The Walking Dead", and the co-creator with JJ Abrams of Duster. She is showrunning that HBO Max crime drama series.
