Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are going their separate ways after 19 years of marriage.
The celebrity power couple began living apart in early summer, with Urban moving out of the family home in Nashville, Tennessee, and acquiring his own residence in the country music capital.
Kidman was opposed to splitting up and has been fighting to keep the marriage intact.
Kidman, 58, and Urban, 57, each launched their respective careers in Australia and hold dual U.S. and Australian citizenship.
They met in 2005 at the G’Day USA gala in Los Angeles, an event promoting their shared home country of Australia.
The couple went public with their engagement a little over a year later before marrying in Sydney in June 2006.
The two share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, who are now 17 and 14, respectively.
In the first months of their marriage, Kidman staged an intervention for her husband to confront his struggles with alcohol abuse, prompting Urban to enter rehab.
In interviews since, Urban has credited Kidman as being integral to his rehabiltation.
The couple have been a regular fixture on red carpets over the past 20 years, including appearances at the Met Gala, Academy Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards.
In April 2024, Kidman was honored with the AFI Life Achievement Award at a Hollywood gala, at which Urban gave a speech onstage.
Kidman was ranked as the highest-paid actress in the world by Forbes in 2024. She won the Oscar for best actress in 2003 for her performance in “The Hours” and has been nominated on four other occasions.
The acclaimed actress has remained a powerhouse in both film and TV, with recent credits including “Big Little Lies,” “Babygirl,” “Nine Perfect Strangers,” “Being the Ricardos” and “The Perfect Couple.”
Before marrying Urban, she was married to Hollywood actor Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. The two share two children, Bella and Connor.
Urban is a country singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the U.S. in the early aughts. He has won four Grammy Awards and 15 Academy of Country Music Awards. Urban has released 11 studio albums and served as a judge for three seasons on “American Idol.” The signer has been on tour in recent months, with his next engagement scheduled for Thursday in Hershey, Pa.
