US President Donald Trump appointed a number of ambassadors to about 20 countries around the world, including Egypt, as part of his efforts to fill vacant senior positions in diplomatic missions abroad. President Trump nominated Nick Oberheiden, from Texas, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Nominations sent to the US Senate this week show that the new ambassadors will be distributed among 20 countries after their appointments are approved.
