Egyptian actress Nelly Karim and her husband, former squash player and fellow actor Hisham Ashour, have tragically called an end to their marriage, two and a half years after tying the knot.
The former couple confirmed their divorce without sharing further details.
Karim and Ashour married in an intimate affair at a tourist resort in the North Coast amid the attendee of their families, on August 11, 2021.
They announced their engagement on August 2, with Karim writing on social media that “August will be filled with happiness".
There was an 8-year age range between Karim and Ashour, with the latter being 8 years younger than his bride.
This was Ashour's first time to tie the knot and the third for Karim. The actress got married for the first time without her family’s knowledge when she was a teenager and gave birth to two sons, Karim and Youssef.
She tied the knot for the second time with doctor Hany Abu Al-Naga. The marriage lasted for 11 years.
Karim and Ashour collaborated on three film and TV productions: the film “Barshama” (TBA), 2024's TV series “Rose and Layla" with Yousra, and "Omla Nadra" (2023).
