Nedal El Shafey Joins TV Series "Al Amira"

Egyptian actor Nedal El Shafey is the latest addition to actress Yasmine Sabri's upcoming TV series "Al Amira".

The series also stars Nicolas Mouawad, Wafaa Amer, Hala Fakher, Ezzat Zain, Abed Anani, and more. 

The drama consists of 15 episodes and is based on a true story. 

It is scripted by Mohamed Sayed Bisheer, directed by Shery Adel, is produced by Maha Selim. 

"Al Amira" is set to screen during the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon.

El Shafey participated last Ramadan with the TV adaptation of Mahmoud Abou Zeid's 1987 masterpiece film "Gary El Wohosh". 

In June 2024, producer Mahrous El-Masry contracted with Abou Zeid's family to transform the plot of the film into a TV series to screen during the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon.

The adaption was be scripted by scriptwriter Ahmed Sobhy and directed by Abdulaziz Hashad, the team behind the TV series "Layl Om Elbanat".

"Gary El Wohosh" featured an A-list cast that included Nour El-Sherif, Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, Hussein Fahmy, Nora, Hussein El-Sherbiny, and Hoda Ramzy.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ali Abdel-Khalek, "Gary El Wohosh" depicts the story of 4 men: Dr. Nabil, a doctor who attempts to treat his friend Said infertilely through a secret illegal experiment.

The operation entails transplanting a part of a brain, and here comes poor man Abdul Qawi who sells it for money to improve his life.

All the while, Abdul Hakeem, Said and Nabil's friend, is the voice of reason who tries to stop them from doing the operation.

As an aftermath of the men meddling with nature and the will of god, Said is unable to have children despite the success of the operation and Abdul Qawi suffers from severe fatigue.

Eventually, Said became paralyzed and died after being hospitalized and Abdul Qawi end up going mad after failing to find someone to do the operation with him.
