Under the title of “Kawkab al-Sharq... 100 years of our artistic heritage,” the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat organized an artistic and cultural heritage event on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the first concert of Umm Kulthum, in cooperation with many Egyptian institutions and artists. .
This comes within the framework of the museum’s keenness to shed light on one of the most important features of Egypt’s authentic artistic heritage, and to revive the Egyptian singing heritage.
Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Museum Authority, explained that the event came within the museum’s strategy that aims to preserve and revive the singing heritage and reintroduce the singing heritage, which represents a means of preserving the Egyptian identity.
