National Center for Translation and ICESCO: New Horizons for Cooperation in Translation and Digital Libraries

In a move to bolster cultural cooperation and strengthen partnerships with regional and international organizations, Prof. Dr. Rasha Saleh, Director of the National Center for Translation (NCT), received Dr. Ramy Majdy, Assistant Secretary-General of the Egyptian National Commission for ICESCO.

Dr. Majdy was accompanied by a high-level delegation from the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), which included:

Dr. Ahmed Al-Bunyan, Director of the Center for Translation and Publishing (Head of Delegation).

Dr. Mohammed Al-Anzi, Head of the Publishing and Library Department.

Ms. Doha Bensaid, Coordinator at the Center for Translation and Publishing.

Strategic Objectives

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of translation and publishing. Central to the discussions was the exploration of integrative strategies for the Islamic World Digital Library project. This initiative aims to invigorate the translation movement while expanding access to knowledge and fostering global cultural exchange.

Site Visit and Commendation

Following the talks, the ICESCO delegation visited the National Center for Translation’s book outlet. They reviewed the latest publications and expressed their deep appreciation for the richness and diversity of the Center’s output, highlighting its pioneering role in the dissemination of knowledge.

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Ghada Ismail, Supervisor of the Culture Department at the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science, and Culture.
