Veteran Egyptian actress Nahed Roshdy died in the early hours of Saturday after a struggle with the illness. She was 68.
Dina Saad, the daughter of the late star, announced her death in a Facebook post but did not include details about her cause of death.
"What God has taken, God has given. My beloved mother, Nahed Roshdy, has passed away," she wrote.
The late actress' funeral will take place after Asr prayer at the Abdel-Rahman Mosque Kawakby in Agouza.
Born on September 15, 1956, Roshdy graduated from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, acting department in 1982 and launched an artistic career that lasted for nearly 40 years.
The prolific actress presented more than 168 film, TV, and theatrical productions.
In the TV side, she starred in TV shows such as "Lann Aeish fi Gilbab Aby", "Arabesque", "Hawanem Garden City", "Toyor Al Zaman Al Gareeh", "Al-Nisaa Qadimoon", "Al Bashaier", "Hekayti", and "El Ekhteyar".
Her theatrical works include "Oedipus and Shafika", "El Ares bil cream", "Beit El Masrawy", "The Whirlwind", "El ostaz", "El Felous Habibi", "Ma'a Khalis Tahiyaty", and "Al Hawagez".
On the film, she starred in films " Akhtaboot", "Al-Raqessa wal-shayttan", "Naeimat Fakihat Muharama", "Liqa' fi shahr aleasl", "Saheb El Edara", "Thlatht ealaa wahid", and "Al-Tareek Ela Eilat".
She made her last onscreen appearance in the 2023 TV series "Al Sandok".
